– And I say this as someone who works in LegalTech.
If you’re a legal professional, you’ve probably sat through enough demos, pilots and transformation programmes to last a lifetime. Every new tool promises to save time, reduce costs, improve quality and fundamentally change the way lawyers work. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it creates an entirely new set of problems.
I’m So Tired of Tech is a candid, practical look at what happens after the demo — when legal technology meets real matters, real deadlines, real lawyers and real teams. This session gives legal professionals permission to acknowledge innovation fatigue while exploring how to cut through the noise and focus on innovation that genuinely adds value.
I’ve spent years implementing legal technology in practice, and will draw on my team’s experience to share the lessons we’ve learned along the way: what genuinely delivered value, what didn’t work as expected, where we got it wrong, and the things I wish we had asked before introducing another piece of technology.
We’ll challenge some of the assumptions that have become almost accepted wisdom in legal innovation: that more technology means more innovation; that adoption is simply a matter of getting people to use a tool; that automation always means less work; and that a successful pilot means we’ve transformed something.
Before we get excited about what the next tool can do, let’s ask: Is this something I need to give my precious brain space to, or is it perfectly reasonable to say, “No, thank you.”
