Session Overview

From Data Clean-Up to Data Culture: How Netcare Built Accountability into Asset Master Data
In large, multi-site organisations, asset master data can easily become fragmented, outdated, and unreliable — especially when responsibility is scattered across departments. At Netcare, this challenge became a turning point for change. Years of decentralised data entry had created inconsistencies that created challenges in everything from compliance audits to maintenance planning and financial reporting.
This session shares how Netcare re-engineered its entire asset verification process to restore confidence in its data, not through another once-off clean-up, but by embedding accountability and governance into daily operations. Using a Power BI-driven model that connects live to SAP and SharePoint data, each facility now owns its data verification process while the centralised Asset Management department governs quality and provides direction. The system automates feedback loops, ensures transparency, and provides real-time visibility across all facilities.
Attendees will gain insight into how this model improved data accuracy, reduced manual effort, and strengthened governance without disrupting day-to-day maintenance activities. The session will also unpack the leadership and cultural shifts required to sustain clean data, showing how operational teams, not just systems, can drive data integrity.
If your organisation is preparing for S/4HANA, predictive maintenance, or digital twin initiatives, this practical case study will inspire new ways to bridge the gap between SAP and the realities in the field, turning data integrity into a lasting competitive advantage.
