Beyond the Hype: Turning Random Acts of AI into real Organisational Capability
This talk explores why many AI initiatives fail to deliver lasting value despite growing investment and enthusiasm. The core issue is not the technology itself, but how organisations approach it—often deploying AI as isolated tools rather than building it as an integrated enterprise capability.
Without a shared understanding of how technology fits into the broader organisational architecture, companies fall into “Random Acts of AI”: fragmented experiments that duplicate effort, create technical debt, and fail to scale. The solution lies in building AI fluency across the organisation, but in ways that reflect the different roles and maturity levels within a workforce. Leaders need strategic understanding to guide investment and governance, operational teams need practical skills to integrate AI into workflows, and technical teams require deep expertise to build and scale systems.
